The apps provide UpToDate’s customers with access to UpToDate’s medical reference content from connected phones, tablets, and laptop computers. The Software Test Engineer is responsible for verifying all aspects of the app functionality and performance using manual processes and automated testing tools. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate the activities of one or more offshore resources. *Responsibilities:* · Participate in all facets of the software development test cycle: Create test plans, develop, execute, and maintain test cases and scripts, manage the defect log and track issue resolution with development staff. Ensure reusability of test cases/scripts building a regression suite for future testing efforts. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT). · Interact with developers, business owners, and customer support. · Analyze all project documents from a QA testing perspective, verifying accuracy and completeness. Must fully understand the business need/problem and the functional/technical solutions identified. · Perform Quality Assurance testing in an agile environment. Participate in all sprint activities including, daily scrums, requirements gathering, story writing, and solution design sessions. · Develop, execute, and maintain test cases and scripts. · Manage defect log and track issue resolution with development staff. · Perform role of onsite coordinator for offshore QA team members. · Work with QA Team Lead to design and implement automated system tests using browser test automation tools. *Qualifications:* · Strong analysis and communication skills. · Technical and functional creativity to look beyond the application’s screen level capability to test thoroughly for a variety of use cases. · Experiencing managing off-shore QA engineering resources. · Experience with web browser test automation tools. · Software development experience using language such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is desired, but not mandatory.
