*Duration: 3+ Months*



*Title/Title:  Linux SME Consultant*
o Assist with development of patching scripts for Linux (SUSE and RedHat)
systems

Ø  Confirm the relative inactivity of applications and databases

Ø  Automate the snapshot/backups of the server prior to patching.

o Assist with developing time estimates for patching processes
o Work with .NET Developer and BladeLogic Consultant to test and validate
patching scripts

o  Assist with creation of user documentation for scheduling portal

o Assist with creation of technical documentation for scheduling portal
o Assist with creation of executive presentation overviewing patching
process

*Experience working in this type of environment details: *

1. Linux environment includes: Novell SUSE 11, Novell SUSE 12, RedHat 5,
RedHat 6.

2. The systems may contain apache Websweeper
3. The systems may contain one of the following databases: DB2, Oracle,
MySQL
4. Current BladeLogic environment is Version 8.6
5. Scheduling Portal is built with .NET, VBScript, IIS on a Windows 2008
platform
6. Linux patching to include service packs and kernel updates
7. Linux snapshot/backups are enabled and functional in the environment
8. The current Linux patching POC has developed a working prototype that is
patching Linux webservers in production
9. The current Linux patching prototype has connectivity established to the
environment that require patching or updates
10. Current Linux patching levels range from SP1 to SP4. The goal is to
patch the Linux systems with SP4 where technically feasible.
