In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and scalability of our cloud services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable choosing the appropriate technology underpinnings, defining the end-to-end architecture, configuring the full stack through DevOps techniques, managing the data, and working with Application and Algorithm specialists to ensure the system’s scalability and performance. The ideal candidate is a cloud native, deeply familiar with handling computationally heavy workloads using Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions.* *Required Skills and Experience:* - *BS in computer science or related field plus 4+ years of related experience.* - *Strong hands-on coding and design skills, including DevOps techniques, performance testing & management, and data storage & processing.* - *Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.* - *Experience working within Amazon Web Services or OpenStack cloud deployments.* - *Red Hat Linux and/or CentOS Linux and/or Fedora Linux.* - *Infrastructure as Code with Software Automation Tools (Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Fabric/Boto/etc.)* - *Python, Ruby, or JavaScript programming languages as well as Shell scripting.* - *Infrastructure as Code with Software Automation Tools (any of Chef/Ansible/Fabric/Boto/Terraform/Jenkins, etc.)* - *Load balancing with open source software solutions (any of Haproxy, Varnish, IPVS/LVS, Nginx, etc)* - *Relational Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational database (any of Cassandra, CouchDB, MongoDB, HBase) experience.* - *Network protocol understanding (Layer 3-4: IP/TCP/UDP/ICMP, Layer 7: HTTP, DNS)* - *Willing and able to participate in an on-call rotation.* *Non-required Highly Desirable Skills and Experience:* - *Understanding of open source big-data processing and machine learning deployments, such as with Hadoop (YARN, Map-Reduce, HDFS), Apache Spark, Apache Storm.
