The BI-DBA will be deeply familiar with SSAS Tabular processing modes, partitions, and design patterns as well as skills in methods for implementing required processing logic including Powershell scripts, XMLA, SSIS and SQL Agent. The BI-DBA must also be deeply familiar with restore/backup and synchronization processes as well as Load Balancer scale out configurations. Expert knowledge in troubleshooting errors via tools such as SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events and Performance Monitor is required. The second responsibility of the BI-DBA will be to monitor and support performance tuning and design efforts to maximize report rendering speeds and minimize resource usage (CPU, RAM). The BI-DBA will partner with development teams on analyzing user access frequency, slow and/or common queries, performance bottlenecks, and options for adjusting infrastructure, databases and queries (DAX, MDX) to drive greater performance and scalability.
