Location: Evanston, IL Duration: 6 months contract to hire
The Senior Software Engineer (Contract to Hire) will be involved in support and maintenance of enterprise web applications. This position requires an experienced engineer capable of operating with minimal supervision and a strong tendency to independent thought. This position will utilize the candidate's strong technical background and analytical skills. Minimum of 8 years of related experience, including prior experience as a programmer in a commercial software development environment Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Major Experience using Java, J2EE, XML and Web applications using MVC model. Experience with Spring MVC, Struts and Hibernate frameworks. Experience in database systems like Oracle, SQLServer and DB2. Knowledge of Operating Systems including Windows/Linux/UNIX required, scripting skills preferred (batch, shell). Experience configuring and supporting AWS environments are preferred. Demonstrated troubleshooting and support skills for any range of software products highly desired. Solid verbal, written skills and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team environment. Strong customer relation skills, demonstrated ability to interact with key decision makers. Responsible for configuring the environments to troubleshoot customer issues and deliver the technical solutions. Communicates proactively and effectively with support, professional services group and customers and other project stakeholders in a highly agile environment. Logging and tracking of assigned defects to closure using standard tools. Responsible for reporting progress against schedule for all assigned tasks on a regular basis. Provide technical guidance to support and sales organizations based to implement products in most efficient manner.
