*Roles and
responsibilities:

· To create & review the Test Cases from the Functional
Specifications / Software Requirement Specification
document
· To test the Functionality as per the Test plan and respective
Test Cases
· To contribute while test plans are developed as per the work
assigned
· To coordinate with team (for discussions) and interact with
client (for updates).
· To schedule the tasks and
report
· Execute component and system
testing
· Record defects and coordinate with development team for
closure
· Generate test data or coordinate with relevant stakeholders for
test data
· Proactively share knowledge and information with the
team
· Report the status to team lead and
manager
*Essential skills:
*
· Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke,
functional (black box/white box), user acceptance and usability testing
· Exposure to structured software development and testing
life-cycle methodologies, like waterfall, agile, and
incremental-iterative
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different
levels of stakeholders in application delivery, QA and business
groups
· Ability to accurately log defects, escalate issues and
risks
· Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature ‘time-boxed’
testing environment
· Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgment of assessing
severity of issues
