If you have any suitable profile please send the resume in word format to a...@compunnel.com, you can also reach me at Phone : 609-606-9010 Ext 1786 *Position: Senior DB2 DBA Location: Portsmouth, NH 03801 Duration: 6 +Months contract* *Senior DB2 DBA* The Senior DB2 Database Administrator will work with the Infrastructure and Development teams to implement/automate/tune new and existing implementations of DB2 Databases and technology in mission-critical 24/7 production SaaS environments. *Responsibilities: * · Provide physical/logical database support for database environments running DB2 9.7 and DB2 10.5 on AIX and Linux · Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions. · Assess and help develop long-term strategic goals for all enterprise database environments · Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets · Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts · Interface/Partner with Development teams and support application release deployments involving major database changes · Establish appropriate end-user database access controls, best practices and perform transaction and security audits · Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, statutory and regulatory requirements while developing solutions for automation and scalability · Stays current on vendor best practices (design, security or other) and provide guidance on patching strategies to prevent risk · Performs Installations, migrations, patching, backup and recovery · Incident, request, change, and problem management · Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays · Develop and participate in disaster recovery exercises · Develop and maintain database documentation and knowledge base articles · Develop database strategies that align to the customer’s needs and goals · Support business initiatives and external customers *Required Skills: * · 8-10+ years of DB2 database administration experience, including strong, hands-on, working knowledge of relational databases and experience working in an DB2 9.7 and DB2 10.5 on AIX and Linux.
