*Position: Build/release Manager* *Location: SFO, CA* *Duration: 3+ months* *Must have 10 + years of experience. * A) “Traditional Release Manager” type who will coordinate the release/deployment activities into our QA and Production environment. Skills: - Highly Organized - Communicates simply & effectively - Can explain SDLC cycle. - Understands the various QA phases in the SDLC and gating criterion between phases. - Understands build & deploy technologies. Can explain them. - Can articulate effectively the purpose of Release Management in the Enterprise. - Understands and could design an effective versioning system. Be prepared to explain this. - Has facilitated release management across disparate application teams that don’t talk to each other normally. Be able to come up with examples of how you have done this effectively. - Can document processes, check-list. - Understands the “stack” that they are responsible for supporting from a release management perspective (code, server type, describe interfaces, describe configuration challenges) - Sense of urgency about meeting deadlines. Not shy to chase people, sit at their desks to get the answers they need.
