Job Description

This position will design the new home page for the agency's SharePoint 2010
intranet. Other selected pages shall also be re-designed or created, e.g.
newsletter, search, commissioner, help, etc.

 

Presently, the agency's intranet is implemented using SharePoint 2010; the
agency is planning to move to SharePoint 2016. This effort is to re-design
the current SharePoint 2010 homepage and other selected pages so that they
meet the following goals:

.         provides users with current, contextual aware information;

.         provides users a portal to agency resources;

.         provides a modern design sensibility;

.         begins the migration to SharePoint 2016, i.e. makes use of design
ideas and approaches that are compatible with or implementable in SharePoint
2016; and

.         provides a responsive design that supports mobile, tablets,
desktops, and other devices.

The agency has developed high-level requirements and mock-ups. This position
will work within the business SharePoint program team to design the UX, to
prepare wireframes and other appropriate artifacts, to participate in
briefings, and to participate with the IT Agile team to implement the UX
design. The role is expected to collaborate with the Agile team analyst and
SharePoint lead. In addition, the role will work with the business content
owner, business SharePoint owner, IT SharePoint managers, and agency
executives to ensure that designs meet the agency's needs and that these key
stakeholders are satisfied.

 

The desired candidate will possess:

.         Seven to ten-year's demonstrated experience in web UX design

.         Five to seven-year's experience designing for sharepoint 2010 and
2013/2016

.         Three to five-year's experience working in an agile team

.         Demonstrated experience soliciting website requirements from
business users and executives

.         Demonstrated experience creating wireframes and/or comparable
design artifacts

.         Demonstrated experience creating website graphic elements

.         Demonstrated experience implementing websites using HTML/HTML5,
CSS, javascript

.         Knowledge of the Commonwealth of Virginia web standards

.         Knowledge of industry accessibility standards, e.g. 508 compliance

.         Demonstrated experience briefing executives

.         Excellent writing and communications skills
