Looking for Strong Business Analyst with Asset Management and Investment banking. *Business Technology Consultant – Job and Role Description* Functional Knowledge/Domain Knowledge: - Understanding/Experience in one or some of the areas of risk like credit risk, counterparty risk, market risk, fixed income and treasury systems - Good understanding/experience in key financial instruments like interest rate swaps, currency swaps, and repos - Understanding of various financial concepts like value at risk (VaR), duration and convexity - Experience/understanding of the trading desk in the areas of money market, forex or derivatives segment or in the middle office/r back office in a broker-dealers or asset management company Relationship Management - In coordination with the Business Relationship Manager to act as liaison between IT service management teams and the business units. - Proactively identify and solve business, organisational, technical, and project management issues through a process of negotiation and / or escalation. - Identify and appropriately present opportunities to provide value-adding services to the business. - Represent and advocate for business interests throughout the product lifecycle. - Provide high-level technical consultation while identifying and utilizing subject matter experts from IT when required. - Work with business units to understand, set and manage their expectations. - Advise Business Relationship Manager on business priorities to enable the management of roadmaps. - Create and manage frameworks for day-to-day communication between the business and IT and for the resolution of problems and incidents through the effective utilisation of the various service and consulting teams within IT. - Conceptualize, document and present business cases covering the development and implementation of business changes. Apply investment appraisal and cost / benefit assessment techniques. Analysis - Work with the business to formalise and map current (As-Is) and proposed future (To-Be) business processes. Perform gap analysis as required. - Identify and recommend opportunities to improve or re-design business processes. - Perform stakeholder analysis, Identify different perspectives and resolve conflicts. - Perform standard business and strategic analyses including the determination of Business Objectives, SWOT Analysis and Business Activity Modelling. - Perform Use-Case analysis to model the interactions between systems and users. - Gather user requirements using appropriately selected and applied elicitation techniques. - Work with the business to prioritise requirements, resolve conflicting requirements and to establish Key Performance Indicators. - Analyse, document, validate, manage and communicate business requirements. - Identify how business requirements may be supported by business systems. - Entity Relationship modelling in support of the business requirements. Solution Development - Collaborate with the business, Business Relationship Manager, and IT teams to provide solutions to meet strategic and tactical business requirements. - Participate in proof of concept analyses and work with business to ensure understanding of system advantages and limitations. - Collaborate with the business, PM and development teams to create and engineer project plans, approaches and strategies. - Work with IT to ensure business requirements are properly scoped and understood. - Work with IT to translate business requirements into designs for technical solutions. - Ongoing SME participation in development projects to ensure proper implementation of business requirements. - Participate in vendor reviews, analyze and perform gap analysis and influence vendor selections. - Facilitate the creation of use case scenarios and support user acceptance testing. - Work with the business and IT to define service level objectives (SLO). Knowledge Development / Leverage - Meet with business leaders and the community on a regular basis to understand the business’ objectives, risks and challenges. - Identify business and technology risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them. - Maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of business needs and drivers and maintain a high level of client trust and confidence through continuously improving service delivery. - Communicate the technical aspects to the non-technically minded business community, relating to solutions developed to meet business requirements. - Adapt to rapidly changing business objectives and work with IT to ensure that new objectives or prioritisations are understood.
