Job: Jr. Business Analyst Location: NJ Duration: 6 Months Rate: 35/hr on c2c *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* § Business analysis and requirements collection for software development projects § Analytics systems & tools design, implementation supervision and testing § Project management § XL/VBA tools development, maintenance & testing § Assist with Matlab / S-Plus scripts and functions development, maintenance & testing § Assist with ad-hoc quantitative analysis using our proprietary tools § Assist with data collection and organization *COMPETENCIES & SKILLS* *Essential*: 1. Academic training (B.S. or higher) in a quantitative discipline, such as computer science, applied math, engineering, probability/statistics 2. A strong technical background along with some software development and systems implementation experience 3. Ability to program in high-level languages (e.g. XL/VBA, Matlab, S-Plus) 4. Understanding of fundamental programming techniques 5. Basic knowledge of financial markets, portfolio management concepts, statistical modeling 6. Interest in statistical modeling and its application to finance, portfolio optimization, investment analysis and the development of software tools 7. Innovative problem solving skills with proactive initiative for prototyping and proof of concept while evaluating alternative solutions 8. Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced and challenging environment, a team-player 9. Possess a practical approach to problem solving and solutions implementation 10. 3-5 yrs minimum relevant work experience is required *Desirable*: 11. Completed or enrolled in a graduate level academic program in Financial Engineering/Computational Finance or similar 12. Knowledge of Matlab, S-Plus or other tools for financial modeling 13. Prior experience in the financial industry 14.
