Project:
Client needing experienced Data Architect / Data Modeler to augment existing
staff in gathering requirements, designing and implementation of client's
Master Data Management (MDM) Data Store of the future.
This MDM will be the hub through which all common enterprise Data will pass,
integrating Data producers with Data consumers from various applications.
The current design includes using Microsoft’s XRM architecture to house the
MDM once the design is complete.
The proper architecture and data model is critical for the success of major
IT initiatives going forward.
Candidates will be expected to use their previous successful experience in
designing and implementation of MDMs to guide and assist client staff in
creating an efficient / effective design using cutting edge best practices.
Responsibilities:
The candidate is expected to be a specialist in data modeling with strong
master data, reference data experience. They will be responsible for
developing, validating, and communicating Data Modeling solutions, including
both relational and dimensional Models and other tasks including.
Capture business requirements and rules
Work with client staff to design, build, and maintain the logical and
physical Data Models to support the business requirements in a dynamic,
expanding business environment
Create all required documentation to support, communicate, and validate the
Data Model
Publish and conduct Model reviews with business and technical project teams
Review Database design changes with the team to determine the impact to the
physical Database and other systems
Support the data activities of the Application Development team supporting
the MDM project.
Architect with an eye toward high performance, scalability, and high
availability
Analyze Data-related systems integration opportunities and challenges,
propose and communicate solutions
Ensure solution designs address performance requirements and availability,
integrity, and security challenges as well as business functional
requirements
Ensure Data models across the organization adhere to sound Data management
principles.
Capture and maintain meta-Data, creating business rules for the use of Data
Communicate and educate others on the use of sound Data management
principles
Identify impact and opportunities to reuse Data structures
Requirements:
· This candidate will be interacting with all levels of IT
management, architects, project managers, BAs, DBAs, business customers
(Data consumers), based on this extensive interaction, strong verbal and
written communication skills are required.
· Experience with Microsoft CRM or XRM architecture is highly
desired.
· Strong experience in data analysis, data modeling, data
warehousing and database design
· Candidates must have 5 to10 years’ experience at Enterprise-level
Data Modeling
· Experience gathering requirements and writing specification
documents for Data Warehousing, Reporting, Business Intelligence, Master /
Reference Data Management and Data Integration/Distribution Solutions
· Have good knowledge of ER / Object / Dimensional Modeling and
extensive experience in developing of logical and physical Data Models in
complex, multi-application environments
· Must have the ability to take a high-level architecture along with
Data requirements to a Data strategy, specific logical Models, into physical
Models, into actual implementation
· Experience with data modeling tools such as AllFusion data
modeling Suite and/or ERwin / model Manager
· Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 for iSeries databases
· Experience with specific tools/products in place: Cognos, and
Informatica, is desired
· Experience in Data Profiling, Data Quality, and Reconciliation
Frameworks
· Experience with financial services and banking are a plus
· College degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or
Information Systems
