** Location: NY-Locals!!!!!! This is a contract position within the Thomson Reuters Markets global Data Protection implementation & suppport team. This will be a backfill of an existing employee. *Interview:* Manager will be conducting in person interviews Primary Responsibilities · Provide on call support and overnight cover, including weekends · Provision storage and backup capabilities in line with project and work request requirements · Amend and create new documentation in line with existing standards · Manage and troubleshoot Netbackup issues which include following escalation paths, both internally and externally and liaison with Netbackup vendor · Proactively maintain and manage the Netbackup environment · Adhere to agreed standards, policies and procedures Required General Skills · Flexible and willing to learn new technologies and applications · Interoperate with other technical departments in TRM · Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers · Possess a wide range of technical knowledge · Self motivated and able to work independently on multiple group projects · Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in sometimes stressful situations · Proven skills analyzing and troubleshooting complex systems configurations · Creative person who looks for new and innovative ways to resolve problems · Effective team player willing to assist others when needed · Ability to represent the department from a technology perspective · Good written and verbal communication Required Technical Qualifications 5+ years of IT experience 2+ years of experience in a NetBackup environment, Proficient in Netbackup day to day administration Knowledge of other backup infrastructure and backup tools (i.e. TSM, WysDM (DPA)) Experience of managing fiber channel connectivity (SAN fabrics) Proficiency in at least one of the following operating systems: Solaris, Windows or Linux Proficient in Netbackup upgrades and patching.
