Location: Houston, Texas Duration: 7 months Role Description: Job Description: The individual in this position will work as a member of a global team and will be working on site. A high degree of working hour flexibility along with time zone awareness and consideration for cultural differences is required ü Experienced ABAP Developer (>5 years) to participate on SAP coding efforts, including: o Interfaces with the process teams& development lead to understand functional requirement and finalize technical design specifications. o Code the solutions which consist of enhancements, reports, interfaces, data conversions o This includes creation of programs in SAP's proprietary language - ABAP, configuration, QA, unit testing, creation and promotion of transports to acceptance and production, liaison with BATCH and BASIS and Process/Project teams. ü Responsible for supporting integration testing, user acceptance testing, cut-over activities, and warrantee period support ü Provides support to custom built applications. ü Provides technical support for business critical interfaces. This includes problem resolution following operational failures of interfaces. Reviews, Analyze and implements OSS notes. Maintain technical design& construction documentation Downstream SPS (SAP Programming Services) provides custom SAP development and support for SAP instances. o This includes: interfaces with non-SAP applications; extensions to SAP itself in the form of user exits; customized SAP reports; front end (End User GUI) configuration. Skill Requirement: Must Have Soft Skill Requirements: Must speak, read and write English fluently. Able to articulate technical issues to a non-technical audience. Able to refine requirements from business end users, update technical design specification documentation. Act as a mentor and focal point for more inexperienced developers. Technical Analysis& Problem solving skills. Ø Able to be productive when working asynchronously with colleagues located around the globe. Must Have Professional Skill Requirements: Extensive experience developing in SAP ABAP Languages& using SAP Workbench. Knowledge of the ALE/IDOC/RFC system services. Knowledge of Work Flow, SAPScripts, SmartForms. Knowledge of Authorization Checks. Experience with Dialog Programming, User Exits& Transport Workbench (Transport requests). Knowledge of methods, processes, and techniques for delivering new or enhanced functionality Experience with OSS Notes Implementation / Core code changes. Working knowledge of other SAP Technology; expected to understand the end-to-end technical SAP solution, including impact to support teams (Basis, Batch). Required technical skills for planned assignment Extensive experience with SCM, OTC or FI ( 5 or more years) Nice to have requirements: Experience working within global ABAP implementation team SAP R/3 BASIS and process/functional knowledge (at least one SAP module). Knowledge of Screen Painter, ABAP List Viewer (ALV).Working knowledge of XI, NetWeaver. Working knowledge of security and controls requirements and SAP operational procedures. Use of ABAP Objects / Object-oriented programming (2 years or more) Prior experience with large-scale, global SAP installations.
