Hi, Client is looking for a Senior System Engineer *- *Campbell, CA. This is a 3 months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. *Overview* This position is for a Senior System Engineer who will work on C/C++ and Java based backend web services. A Senior Systems Engineer has the responsibilities to develop, design and test new applications and performs life cycle support for existing applications. The engineer must possess excellent knowledge of the multiple subsystems within environment and the tools that support company's products. The engineer is capable of leading the development effort for subsystems (or major components) of a large-scale project. In addition, the engineer must be completely accountable for all assigned tasks. Finally, the engineer is required to adhere to all of company's software development procedures and processes while fulfilling the leadership role. This position will also provide cross-functional support within company for RFP's, RFI's, sales calls, etc. and provide input for business case development, market analysis and operational issues. Facilitate or attend internal and external technical overviews and determine technical feasibility. *Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience 7+ Years of Software Development using Java, C, and C++ Languages Experience with media and messaging based application development Expertise in client/server communications including experience with HTTP, XML, TCP, UDP, Wireshark Knowledge of media formats such as MP4, H.263, QCELP, AMR Experience with RTSP, RTP and other media streaming protocols a plus Experience with SMS, MMS, SMIL, and WTP a plus Experience with Frontend web technologies such as HTML, DHTML, CSS, and AJAX a plus Strong working knowledge of software design processes and methods Strong analytical and problem solving skills Solid understanding of system architecture Solid understanding of statistical and benchmark testing Proficient at UNIX shell scripting Object oriented development methodologies and design patterns (Desirable) Experience with Integrated Development Environments (e.g. eclipse, JBuilder, Visual Studio). *Skills-Mandatory* Operating System(s) - Linux-7 years. Programming Language(s) - C++-7 Years. *Strongly Desired* Programming Language(s)-Java-3 Years. Other-Knowledge of media formats such as MP4, H.263, QCELP, AMR-3 Years.
