Job Title: DB2 Database Administrator Location: Kansas City, MO Duration: 6 Months Contract POSITION SUMMARY: * Accountable for designing, building, implementing, and maintaining database structures. Ensures service levels are maintained, problems are resolved in a timely manner, and project status is communicated to management. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of data modeling and database design. * Translates logical data models into physical database designs. * Creates and maintains development, system test, and production databases. * Provides database technical assistance and direction to application team members. * Understands and enforces database standards and procedures. * Monitors the performance of database components and applications. * Designs and implements data base backup, recovery, and reorganization procedures. * Provides off-hour support through participation in a department on call rotation.
