*Position : .Net Developer w/ Automated Testing experience* *Location : NYC* *Duration – 6 months* *Hourly rate : DOE* * * *Main responsibilities:* § Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the testing of properly engineered information systems, containing software as the major component, to meet agreed business needs. The candidate will work on, but not limited to, the Thomson Reuters Messaging Compliance product. § Works on medium and large complex projects that are enterprise wide and require the highest level of expertise and multiple technical disciplines. § Work involves working with onshore developers and offshore Quality Assurance team § Contribute key technical expertise, potentially global, which may have a direct material impact on Reuters reputation, and products. § Working with on-shore and off-shore development, test and operations staff § Accountable for a team's results, or for a project, and takes responsibility for the quality of work delivered. Sets timeframes and schedules to meet customer and business needs. § Providing design recommendations, developing automated testing programs per written specifications. Responsible for writing moderate to complex test cases § Translating business and technical requirements into automated test cases for application code and modules. § Preparing and presenting status updates for various projects. § Developing automated testing software application modules using disciplined software development processes. § Provides assistance in researching new and emerging technologies. Works with vendors to understand technology, evaluating new tools, technologies and platforms to be included § Ensuring project process is followed (assignment objectives, post assignment performance reviews, etc.) § Identifies ways to improve the operation of own area and to achieve efficiencies and results. § Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Quality Assurance teams. * * *Qualifications: * § Minimum of 6 years development and or Quality Assurance experience. Experience must include minimum of 3 years in developing of complex .NET applications. § Experience must include minimum of 2 years in automated testing experience. § Requires in-depth experience and understanding of Unit, functional, performance & capacity testing. § Requires in-depth experience and understanding of creating test cases. § Complex Programming primarily in .NET languages C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and other .NET technologies such as XML, XSD, MSMQ, .NET Windows Service and Web Services with understanding of Server Side / Back End Applications. § Experience with Database Programming using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005. § Candidate should have experience with deployment and testing of large-scale production quality applications § Multi-Threaded Application Programming § Engaged in innovative concepts and programming techniques on how to develop high quality software and still maintaining shorter time to market (e.g. Agile and Extreme Programming (XP)) § High awareness of customer service § Very Focused and Challenged * * *Top skills candidates MUST HAVE:* § Automated Testing Experience § Complex Programming with .Net/C# § In-depth experience of unit and functional testing § *Must *have *great communication skills* *Nice to have:* § Minimum of 3 years Quality Assurance experience working in a team of 5 or more software Quality Assurance engineers. . § Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture § Messaging / SIP and Live Communications Server experience a plus § Financial markets experience a plus * * *Background:* § Development or QA background * * *Education: * § Bachelors degree preferred Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
