ETL/Informatica Architect Location: Orlando, FL Duration: 6 months+ Job Description The position of ETL Architect is for an IT professional that has at least 7 to 10 years of IT experience and at least 5 years of experience in data warehousing, design and development of ETL procedures using Informatica PowerCenter 8.8. The applicant should have an in-depth working experience deploying ETL solutions with this product on Oracle 10G and Teradata databases. As part of the design and development process, the applicant will need excellent written and verbal skills and should be able to express the designs to business SMEs (subject matter experts), business users of BI applications, and technical development staff (client and consultative). Responsibilities . Responsible for preparing Source-To-Target (STT) mapping and transformation specifications by working with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and BI Architects to interpret ODS and Dimensional Data Mart data models and database designs and BI application analysis and reporting requirements. . Responsible for developing the specific technical specification for extraction, staging, and target load job workflows based on (STT) mapping and transformation specifications. This includes working with the Data Architecture team to develop efficient SQL (e.g., table joins on extracts, master and reference data confirmation lookups, load procedures, etc.) that optimizes performance of ETL procedures. . Untilize Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 architecture and toolset functionality to develop the technical design of ETL procedures. . Work with business SMEs (data stewards), the IT business analysts, IT BI Architects and Developers, and Data Analysts to confirm data transformation and audit requirements . Work with the data owners (i.e., business data stewards) to resolve any issues to maintain the reliability of the data . Responsible for working with the Data Architect to effectively communicate with project data analysts, ETL developers, and other IT and business groups to ensure that ETL application procedures are thoroughly tested and meet requirements defined in STT mapping and transformation specifications. . Develop and maintain ETL application technical support project documentation. . Mentor ETL Developers. Required Skills . Expert in designing and developing ETL procedures using Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 and Oracle 10G environments. Experience deploying ETL procedures with a target Teradata database platform in a plus. . Highly knowledgeable in data warehousing concepts and technologies . In depth experience with ETL design and development best practices. . In depth experience with error handling. . In depth hands on experience with audit and control methods . Working experience with the CA AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler data model management toolset . In depth understanding and development experience using SQL, stored-procedure languages (Oracle PL/SQL), and UNIX ksh scripting languages . Oracle 10G and Teradata (ideal) SQL tuning . Proficiency with UNIX operating systems - ideally Sun Solaris . Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with business and technical IT management .
