Falls Title: Program Analyst BI/BO Duration: 3 months* *MUST BE EAD, GREENCARD, CITIZENS* *Response:* I realize this can be two different roles. We would take candidates with MSI and candidate with ETL. (I tend to think we are looking more for ETL; but if they had a MSI candidate, we would love to see it.) *Project:* Under minimal direction, this position will identify and analyze business problems at the program or system level, design solutions, and identify impact of proposed changes for projects of moderate complexity. The position may be involved in various concurrent functions of systems support, including system development, testing of functionality, user support, and communication with business partners and vendors. System design and construction are the main focal points for this position, along with growing proficiency with various development tools and environments on multiple platforms. *Primary Responsibilities:* * Work with end users and business analysts to ensure tight fit between Business Intelligence environment and business requirements. * Employ BI design experience with multi-dimensional data warehouse environments. * Configure BI tools, develop the semantic layer and metadata, create reports and report definitions. * Analyze proposed changes at a system level and recommend designs and solutions that minimize impact to interfacing systems while maximizing code re-usability and maintaining business value. * Translate business requirements and functional specifications into detailed system and program design specifications and provide time estimates. * Create and execute unit, system, and integration tests and validate test results independently. * Work with the lead to develop and implement acceptance tests and validate test results with the appropriate business partners. * Prepare effective written communication to document project status, issues, and requirements and report status to project lead. * Evaluate available options for development/testing tools and utilities to determine best fit, expanding knowledge in one or more areas of technical specialization. * Understand and mentor team members on the integration of system components required to accomplish a specific objective. * Code structured program changes to new or existing programs using multiple programming languages/platforms. Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with Clients's best practices. * Provide team members guidance to ensure the smooth development and installation of assigned projects on schedule. * Provide timely and accurate on-call support for production applications * 5+ years as a Business Intelligence Developer or Architect. * 2+ years of MicroStrategy Development Tools, Service Modules, and User Interfaces experience experience (must have active experience within the past 12 months). * Multiple years of programming experience using multiple languages, databases, development environments and platforms. * Multiple years experience performing application and system design and troubleshooting tasks. * Prior experience performing on-call support for production applications. *Q&A:* It mentions Microstrategy in the qualifications needed, but also lists in the project background that it is an ETL/Business Objects developer. Should we be looking for BI candidates with Microstrategy and Business Objects? Or is one more important than the other?
