Lauderdale, FL Rate: 45/HR all incl on CTC Duration: minimum 3 months to start, could extend in 3 month increments This is a unique opportunity for an ETL Developer to be part of a team developing an enterprise level sales data warehouse from scratch. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong SQL Server SSIS and T-SQL skills working in a Data Warehouse environment and using SQL Server 2005, knowledge of 2008 is considered a strong plus. A working knowledge of SQL & SSAS is also required. Responsibilities - Assist with the development of logical and physical ETL packages - Lead in data acquisition and access analysis and design; and archive, recovery, and load strategy design and implementation. - Participate in test plan creation and the testing process. - Implement an ETL solution that meets the corporate and production operations best practices. - Accurately estimate the size of the development effort as measured. - Provide complete documentation in the form of commented code, problem status information, and design documents. - Perform thorough unit testing as required to provide a quality product. - Perform thorough problem analysis that results in resolution of problems according to standards. - Complete code and other deliverables on schedule - Use Source Control (i.e. SourceSafe) to manage project versions and code changes - Implement and enforce companywide coding standards and best practices provided - Work in an agile development life cycle approach - Support database/ETL administration tasks during development and post go live - Follow release management, build process and versioning within a source control environment - Build migration development within environments following deployment best practices - Been able to work under minimum supervision, team member, task/goal oriented Special Knowledge/Skills Required: - Strong background in ETL design and dimensional data warehouse design - Strong background in logical/physical data model both OLTP and OLAP - Familiarity with ETL and Database best practices - Familiarity with Performance optimization techniques - Ability to tune ETL packages and database performance for both OLTP and OLAP. - Indexing, query planning as part of data extraction - Understanding of MDM concepts, Metadata and Data Quality. - Data cleansing, Data Standardization - Strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills - Poise, maturity and communication skills necessary to represent the enterprise architecture group internally and externally Technical Skills Required: *Must have: * - Strong SQL Server 2005/2008 Skills - Thorough Understanding of BI Principles - Experience Building a Data Warehouse from scratch - Experience Building both OLAP & OLTP Databases - Experience Building slowly changing dimensions and fact data structures and standards - Understanding of the different philosophies in building a warehouse. Specifically they must be able to demonstrate prior working and implementation knowledge of the Kimball Methodology - Knowledge on Unit testing, and QA test plans implementations and review *Should have: * - Working knowledge of XML - Working knowledge of SSAS - ETL, DB and Reports Security - Reporting Services *Nice to have: * - Knowledge SAP, SFDC, Oracle, SOA - Agile development - Working knowledge of .Net Development *Qualifications: * - Overall 5+ years of ETL Development Experience - A Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience and knowledge of ETL Development in an enterprise environment.
