Experience in rich internet application (RIA) interface usability and design principles as relates to enterprise applications and portals is required. An online portfolio is required. As a member of the technology team: • Work closely with users (analysts) to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios • Create user interface design specifications, as required • Identify, select, and implement appropriate navigation models used to build intuitive navigation structures • Implement effective usability-based content organization and treatment methods • Ensure intuitive interaction through appropriate UI control selection and error and feedback design • Increase design efficiency using Web and application templates • Design and develop user surveys to obtain usability input • Conduct usability testing Responsible for creating optimal experiences for several applications and portals of our product suite. Works collaboratively with fellow members of the Visual Design and Marketing team to conceptualize, design, and prototype ideas while ensuring that the User Experience designs meet overall business requirements along with applications aesthetic, functional, and workflow requirements. Responsible for the end-to-end assessment and planning of overall web experience and tool interaction, usability and content organization, eliciting project requirements, and ensuring the site meets the needs of the user. Focuses on visual design, prototype development, and adherence to corporate branding standards. Ensures the new visual design system for all public and private assets under the client's umbrella are consistent, useful, competitive, and innovative. Works with internal customers to understand business goals and visually articulate business objectives through prototype and screen design. Lead efforts to define detailed user interface requirements (business, functional, and end-user) for complex projects while planning and conducting structured user interface design reviews. Develop interaction flows, wire frames and schematic designs. Provide strong quantitative analytical and wire-framing skills that will aid how key projects take shape. Create site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience. Produce and evaluate functional designs for very complex projects and to ensure user interface design requirements are captured. Create graphical imagery to support prototype creation and screen mockups. Define user-centered design processes and use of user interface design standards. Maintain and share awareness of industry trends and new technologies and explore those that would benefit the organization. Review and interpret web statistics and other research data, and help create effective, desirable and intuitive user interfaces. • Responsibility - Review and document current site for navigation effectiveness and usability - Meet with business partners and users to research and document user profiles, analysis tasks, workflows, and user scenarios - Create user interface design specifications, as required - Identify, select, and implement appropriate navigation models used to build intuitive navigation structures - Collaborate with Team lead, application developers and graphic designer in the design, development and implementation of a re-branding and navigational organization update - Document changes to the User Interface and provide walkthroughs to our documentation specialists so support them in updating user documentation - Conduct usability testing - Document design and usability standards <b>Skills:</b> Technical Competencies: • 5+ years user-centered design and testing experience • 4+ years web design experience • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, InDesign, PhotoShop, Fireworks • Strong command of design principals, layout and composition • Technical illustration capabilities and a great sense of shape, pattern, form, style and color • Conceptual and have the ability to identify trends • Team player who works fast with very high quality results • Multi-task effectively with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines required • Great communication skills to effectively work in a virtual team environment • Strong Analytical and documentation skills • Professional certifications such as Certified Human Factors Engineering is preferred • Requires a BA/BS in Interaction Design, Web/Graphic Design, Web Product Design, Web Development. • 5+ years experience in User Interface design, Interactive Design, and prototyping, • 5+ years experience with various prototyping/mockup tools within a visual analytics and workflow UI patterns, and User Interface design tools such as Adobe, and Microsoft user interface product suites; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. • Thorough understanding of computer applications and programming required. • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required. • Good analytical and problem-solving skills required.
