We have 3 DBA openings in Woonsocket, RI Candidates must be available to work onsite in Rhode Island through the end of 2010. In addition, candidates must be flexible to work *any* shift at any time during the contract. One of the positions will primarily be 2nd shift (3 pm - 11pm) plus every 3rd weekend (8am - 5pm Saturday & Sunday). The additional two shifts will cover first, second, and third shifts plus rotating weekends. *Please only send candidates who are willing to work any shift at any time throughout the 3 month contract.* ** *Primary Responsibilities:* ** Creation of Oracle database objects Working with development of business projects RMAN Backup and Recovery Database refreshing Database Security standards ** *Job Description:* ** Plans and coordinates the administration of Oracle databases to ensure accurate, appropriate, and effective use of database definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and operational guidelines. Performs quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper usage of all database objects and various support tools, such as database dictionaries. Reviews database design and integration of systems, and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. May establish and maintain security and integrity controls. Provides appropriate consulting, interfacing, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Prepares and/or reviews activity, progress, and performance reports. Typically, the Senior Specialist demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform all of the basic Oracle database management skills of data administration, web connectivity, physical structure, SQL and SQL applications, and overall architecture and database analysis. In addition applies detailed and specific knowledge of at least one of these areas. Plans and configures the physical database environment. Evaluates and recommends the purchase and utilization of technologies such as DMBS/s, servers, extract and conditioning tools, metadata management, security tools and archival and recovery tools and data access. Develops project plans for implementing data warehouse and OLTP environments. Plans projects and oversees the tactical aspects of a database implementation and maintenance. Diagnoses, resolves and implements preventive measures to prevent problems for applications and system software. Designs data storage and management processes for specific database projects. Recommends and oversees implementation of system level configuration modifications to optimize performance. Ensures maintenance of physical integrity of all production databases and support the corresponding development and test database. Desired skills: Knowledge of SOX/PCI/PII auditing a plus.
