SQL DBA Rate: 55/hr Minneapolis, MN Duration: 1 year contract *Business Reason:*This is to fill the DBA position related to the TSA agreement with IDCo.; ** * * *Brief Job Description:* Database Administrator Responsibilities: Works independently and with a small team to support state-of-the-art operational database systems as part of a 24x7 Web infrastructure. Develops and ensures the implementation of technology group standards with regard to database management tools/techniques and the implementation of data repositories, data load, and reporting tools. Keeps abreast of new and emerging database design and implementation techniques and makes appropriate recommendations for their use. . Overall responsibilities are as follows:• Implements technology group information architecture and database directions and standards. Implements defined processes to increase the reliability, integrity and availability of cross platform data access.• Provides in depth database administration support data definition/schema management, logical access path modeling, security, design and generation of databases, performance tuning, data recovery planning and implementation, data integrity and troubleshooting and repair services.• Participates with technical staff, business partners, and customers in establishing system availability, requirements and estimating business system transaction and data volumes. • Participate in a 24x7 oncall rotation• Designs, develops and implements data migration and conversion strategies.• Creates specialized database software to support business requirements.• Juggle multiple high priority tasks.• Supports testing, development and production database environments.• Participates in DB design reviews.Experience/Skills:7 plus years of Microsoft SQL Database Administration duties. Experience supporting Windows and SQL Server support at Application, Hardware and Network level. Effective communications with Operations, Engineering and business staff. Quick learner who will understand a complex environment and can prioritize their own work.
