Position: *VMWare** **Engineer*
Location: *Gaithersburg, MD*
Duration: *6 Months*
*F2f after telephonic*
*Job Summary:*
Lead design, preparation, implementation, management, and training of a VDI
(Virtual Desktop) solution based upon specific project requirements.
Individual must be able to engineer solutions from scratch based on
requirements provided, and in some cases may need to assist with
requirements definition. The hosted VDI solution will need to be accessible
by off network devices. The virtual solution will consist of a Windows XP
Operating System, Internet Explorer 6, patch management and antivirus
software, custom ActiveX controls, Sun JRE, Adobe Reader, and possibly
Microsoft Office. Both persistent and non-persistent images will be used.
Local printing and host/virtual file system interaction is required. The
solution must scale to 120+ concurrent users.
*Work Environment: *
The primary work location is in Gaithersburg, MD. There will be times when
activities may involve travel to the International HQ in Bethesda or the
Computing Network Center located in Frederick, MD. Occasional travel for
offsite training and problem determination may be required.
Customers/Partners:
Network Engineering, Systems Administration, Enterprise Security,
Distributed Systems Network Management, IR Deployment Services, Systems
Support Center, Property Systems Services, International Global Field
Services and various Domestic and International business application owners
*Technical Qualifications Required: *
Experience with Windows client operating system engineering and
OS/application lifecycle management required. Prior production design,
implementation, configuration, and management of a VDI solution required.
Implementation of VMWare View solution is preferred.
Application Virtualization
experience is preferred. VMWare ThinApp experience preferred.

Desktop Productivity Skills
Project Management Skills a plus
Ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Education/Experience:*
BS/BA, technical certification, or equivalent work experience 7-9 years work
experience in similar position or having equivalent skills experience
