I have a new req in Stamford, CT. Pay rate max is $50.
Locals are preferred due to face to face, but would be open to Skype/Web
cam interviews for right person.
Duration of 6 months is extendable based on performance.
The work comprises all aspects of Oracle Database Administration with tasks
including, but not limited to the following.
Generic Requirements:
* Logical & physical database design
* Building/upgrading instances adhering to bank deployment and security
standards
* Assisting application teams to resolve performance issues and coordinating
with Unix/storage teams when required
* Assisting application teams in utilizing Oracle technologies to satisfy
business and operational requirements
* Provide expert database knowledge to the customers
* Ability to work independently and resolve complex Oracle issues
* Proactive monitoring of the databases
* Setting up and resolving issues with Oracle Data Guard environments
* Experience in task automation
* Scripting language (ksh, perl) Additional Information: Requirement:
* Min. experience of 10 yr. required with some recent experience in a large
bank or financial institution
* Strong development and production support experience within a large
financial organization & good communication skills
* Oracle 10g and 11g Database Administration and Management on Linux
environments
* good knowledge of Oracle internals
* Proven track record in supporting development and production activities
simultaneously in a large environment
* Oracle Database Tuning and Performance - AWR, ADDM, ASH and UNIX native
commands
* Oracle DataGuard Physical Standby configuration, build and support
including DataGuard Broker
* Storage considerations for Oracle Database Performance
* Oracle backup and recovery configuration and procedures using RMAN
* Oracle Exadata experience a huge plus
* Must be able to work after hours and on weekend frequently
Specific Requirements: . Strong knowledge and experience with SQL Tuning
including . Understanding of execution plans 1 Plan stability ( hints, sql
profiles, sql baselines and their practical usage ) 2 Indexing ( b-tree,
bitmap indexes ) 3 CBO 4 CBO statistics . Strong knowledge and experience
with Instance tuning 0 Good understanding of data modeling - normalization
and denormalization 1 Proven experience with Oracle RAC 2 Understanding and
track record of implementing Oracle partitioning ( base and composite ) 3
VLDB experience 4 Good understanding of storage technologies ( NAS, SAN ,
RAID levels and etc ) related to Oracle architectures 5 Good understanding
of Linux/Solaris related to Oracle architectures
