Job Title: C++ Developer Location: Houston, TX Duration: 6+ Month contract *Responsibilities:* Understand system architecture and system specifications in order to develop test cases for BIOS and Hardware development. Develop software test tools in support of test cases where possible. Troubleshoot test failures and test tools to isolate root cause. Analyze Windows Blue Screens to determine root cause. Interface with development teams on reported issues to adequately demonstrate and provide detailed technical information. Provide comprehensive, expert-level troubleshooting, triage, and debug support for notebook platform development. Provide timely technical assistance for critical development and customer issues. Advise management in planning for new technologies. *Requirements:* Must possess a minimum of 5 years of software development in C++ and product development experience. Experience in MFC C++, WMI, ASP, .NET required Experience in Assembly and Web Services (SOAP) preferred Experience in driver development and demonstrated understanding of Windows Device Driver Model. Experience with notebook computers and mobile power management a distinct advantage. Must be highly proficient with Windows XP and Windows Vista, including a thorough understanding of OS architecture and functions. Demonstrated understanding of ACPI methods, SMI mechanisms, or other areas of hardware/software architecture. Experience with notebook computers/power management a distinct advantage. Must be proficient with debugging tools and methodologies. Knowledge of MS kernel debugger is a distinct advantage. Must have very good verbal and written communication skills Must be productive in a multi-team, multi-vendor, cross-functional matrix organization. Must possess sound project, time, and task management skills Must display proven passion for development (e.g., integrity, attention to detail, sense of urgency, motivation) Work independently with minimal supervision and accept general direction. Work closely with other developers to ensure findings are understood in order to drive issues to closure. Train test team members on new technology standards and methodologies. Fully understand and communicate technology capabilities and expected behaviors to product teams as needed. Monitor and understand implication of all pertinent industry specifications to facilitate root cause analysis.
