*Production Control Specialist* Location: Amarillo, Texas Full-time
*Position Summary–*The Production Control Specialist position will research, document, design, develop, and test code promotion processes and procedures. Implement and manage application code management and deployment tools. Document, automate and maintain scheduled production routines. Apply best practice methodologies to production software code management and deployment. This position will report to the Infrastructure Director. * * *Duties & Responsibilities* *I. Service/Support* - Advise management and development supervisors about maintenance of software code management and deployment tools, application code promotion, and automation/tool implementation. - Consult with internal customers or other departments on project status, proposals, and technical issues as they relate to routine processing or software code promotion. - Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned. *II. Production Control* - Develop plans to safeguard production tables and code from accidental or unauthorized modification and to meet emergency data processing needs. - Identify and document existing processes and procedures affecting production systems, both manual and automated. - Work with the Development Team to implement and maintain application source code promotion procedures, scripts and tools. - Coordinate the scheduling of daily batch workload for computer processing. - Document and automate daily, weekly, monthly and annually scheduled automated procedures and ensure successful completion of all jobs. - Modify existing automated procedures to correct errors and to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. - Provide training to other groups within IT on newly installed software code management and deployment tools. - Ensure appropriate communications regarding software deployment and application availability are distributed to customers. - Evaluate and recommend best practices and tools related to application lifecycle management. *Minimum Qualifications* - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at 5+ years of experience in software development, software engineering, code management, application lifecycle management or in a related field. - Highly motivated with the ability to work from high-level objectives and goals. - Must be able to quickly grasp new technological concepts and implement them. - Must have strong organizational, complex problem solving, and analytical skills. - Self starter with strong attention to details. - Must be able to analyze and understand written procedures. - Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written formant with employees and the general public; to maintain confidentiality in daily operations; to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner. - Experience working with production control processes required.
