Oracle experience C++,UNIX Description: Assignment : This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing a proprietary application server and web browser resident applications implemented in C++ on UNIX and Windows. Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze existing system components in order to develop a complete understanding of the architecture and flow of control. Perform performance monitoring and tuning of the application. Identify and communicate system deficiencies to improve performance and scalability Collaborate in the system design to perform required functions. Implement application code for new and modified components to meet business, operational, and performance requirements efficiently. Produce components that adhere to internal standards, are reliable, and easily maintained. Develop unit test plans that will thoroughly exercise component logic to ensure adherence to requirements. Execute unit test plans, document test results, and resolve discrepancies as deemed appropriate. Prepare for and participate in walkthroughs of design specifications, source code, and all technical and supporting documentation and provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines. Suggest enhancements to current standards. Assist in production support activities, resolving production issues quickly and effectively. Assist in the development and management of project plans. Analyze and classify change requests, identifying and documenting scope of change and impact on project. BS/BA or equivalent experience. 4+ years of practical experience in the development and maintenance of multi threaded C++ application programs in UNIX environments. 4+ years of practical experience in the analysis and design of system applications. Experience with analyzing and deconstructing complex software systems without the support of system documentation. Experience with JAVA and J2EE technologies is a big plus. Experience with Oracle databases is a must. Experience with Perl programming is highly desirable.
