Title: Senior Java developer Location: Scranton, PA Duration: 12+ Months No of Positions: 3 Start Date: ASAP Rate: $DOE Job Summary To design, implement and maintain applications based in a Java SOA-based architecture. This role shall provide highly technical and specialized guidance, and solutions to complex software engineering challenges; perform software engineering analysis and design; estimate software development costs and schedule; and help lead systems design, development, and integration activities using accepted software engineering practices and design techniques. Also, in some cases, responsible for project completion; and to provide guidance and training to other developers. Responsibilities . Work with a team of developers in designing, developing, enhancing, monitoring & maintaining core functionality in our products . Work with architects and product management to define needs & delivery . Contribute the development & delivery of product deliverables . Provide technical troubleshooting skills and guidance to the development team . Participate in hands-on architecture, engineering, and code review activities to ensure application designs conform to accepted standards . Participate in development sprints within an Agile/SCRUM SDLC Educational/Skill Requirements . Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred. Each one (1) year of the required college may be substituted with one (1) additional year of the required experience. . 10 + years J2EE experience . Significant experience in POJO (Plain Old Java Object) development . Experience working with an Agile/SCRUM development team . Experience with all areas of the software development lifecycle. . Experience in messaging, particularly with JBoss JMS. . Experience managing or working with SQL Server or other SQL development resources . Knowledge of and experience with service oriented architecture, XML and Web Services development and deployment (UDDI, SOAP, WSDL, WS-Security, etc.) . Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server helpful but not required. . Prior experience in the health insurance industry or with Medicare/Medicaid helpful but not required. . Strong verbal, written, time management and organizational skills.
