-- Client: Hewlett Packard Job Title: Sr QA Tester Start Date: 9/24/2012 End Date: 11/25/2013 or later Location: Ft Collins, CO Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust * * *Job Description:* The successful candidate must be able to perform testing of web and desktop software applications, understand formal software engineering practices and quality assurance standards. The ability to interpret product requirements, develop test procedures, and understand functional, performance, load, installation, and usability testing concepts are key. In addition, the position must be able to perform system administration of the entire QA test environment. *Principal responsibilities include:* ** • Understanding of the formal software development process. • Test plan and test case development; • Automated test development (including incorporation of dynamic test data); • Manual and automated testing of software functionality, installation, and usability (including 508 compliancy); • Load and performance testing; • Bug management and error tracking; and • Test report documentation. • Windows server administration and setup/maintenance of multi-tier computing environments including but not limited to web server configuration • COTS installation/setup • Administration of users/groups/privileges within a windows environment • Development and maintenance of network architecture diagrams Coordination and prioritization of testing activities and the ability to work with multiple development teams and software projects are also critical for the selected candidate. Candidate must have the ability to independently troubleshoot software and operating system level installation and configuration issues. *Qualifications:* Education and Experience: • A minimum of seven years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience is required. Hands-on experience with creation of test plans, development and execution of test cases and reporting of test results is a must. • A Bachelors Degree--preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline--or equivalent work experience (at least 10 years) is required. *Skills and Competencies - Note: Experience denotes “successful demonstrated experience”.* • Experience with Quality Assurance practices and Testing Methodologies • Test Plan and Test Case Development based on software engineering documentation (functional and deployment testing) • Experience with executing both functional, usability, and deployment testing • Experience with automated testing applications similar to Visual Studio 2010 Test Edition and/or HP Quality Center. • Experience with formal testing of complex server-based software systems • Multi-tier computing environments including load balanced application (middleware) servers supported by back end database servers • Test execution experience in .NET/C# environment • Experience with commercial bug management system • Working knowledge Microsoft Office tool suite (including Visio) • Demonstrated Documentation and Reporting experience • Operating system management experience with Windows Server 2003/2008 • Experience with configuration of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) • Experience testing in an agile development environment • Excellent analytical and problem determination skills • Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, files systems, and other program objects.
