Technical Skills:-



The *IBM Mainframe Performance analyst* is utilized through the Early
Engagement process to help prevent high risk to the IBM Mainframe and its
related subsystems (OS390, DB2, IMS, etc.)

•        Experience in mainframe performance analysis - tools
including *APPTUNE,
Disk usage monitor, DB2 performance*

•        Strong *Mainframe knowledge*

•        *Strong DB2 skills***

•        Work on continuous improvements for host performance testing

•        Determining the need for an usage of  performance scripts

•        Single Point of Contact for Performance Questions

•        Monitoring Early Performance Testing for efforts

•        *Responsible for Performance Test Requirements, Test Plan, Test
Schedule, and Test Summary reports*.

•        Working with team members to capture lessons learned from
performance test environment setup and shakedown and develop action items
to help prevent these problems from happening in the future

•        *Maintaining the Performance Test Team Responsibilities Document*

•        Coordinates performance testing activity for client and outside
efforts.  This includes handling environment sharing and test scheduling to
prevent component overlays on the systems that can result in significant
downtime during performance testing

•        Assisting analysts with hours estimation/scheduling, and risk
prioritization for both Early and Formal Performance Testing

•        Assisting analysts with Performance Test results analysis and the
determination of next steps (application tuning, additional testing, etc)

•        Responsible for performance results communications

•        Providing analyst specific mentoring to aid in the development of
performance focused skill development

•        Setting strategic direction for performance testing and automation

•        Meet with project and SRs early in project life cycle to
proactively estimate Capacity Concerns,  identify Application Tuning
Opportunities, request Application Distribution Diagrams, Request
BVM’s(Business Volume Metrics) from Business analyst, request  SVM’s
(System Volume Metrics) from Systems Analyst, and all necessary information
to develop complete understanding of application and environmental changes.
