Title: Electrical Engineer- (XCEL) Duration: 8+ months Contract Location: Minneapolis,MN Job Responsibilities: BS in Electrical Engineering REQUIRED This individual will be the sole electrical engineer at the site. Primary responsibilities will be with the high and low voltage electrical systems within the plant. Any experience with process controls (Ovation , Mark VI) will be an extra benefit This position is part of a three member engineering team at the plant. This individual will be the sole electrical engineer at the site. Electrical engineer responsible for the maintenance and operation of multiple electrical systems throughout the generating station and substation. Responsible for the following activities : NERC/FERC records, review of plant switching orders for both site and substation, review of plant electrical isolations, technical direction and troubleshooting assistance for the electrical maintenance department, performance monitoring of the plants high and low voltage equipment, monitoring the site generators and related systems. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
