LOCATION: FT. LAUDERDALE, FL
DURATION: 5 MONTHS WITH EXTENSIONS*

RATE: 45-48/HR

ENVRIONMENT.

Position Summary:
The goal of the QA Test Lead is to verify that the system under test meets
project requirements by carrying out testing on the system after initial
development has been completed (System Testing).  The Test Lead manages the
test team and is the overall owner of the test effort (including UAT).  At
a high level the Test Lead will do the following on the Freedom of
Information (FOI) project:
•            Works with the FOI project team to define project-specific
test processes
•            Estimates and plans the system test effort (including UAT)
•            Ensures the creation of test documentation and assets
•            Manages the execution of the test effort (including UAT) and
day-to-day operations of the test team
•            Reports on test status and raises test-related risks

The Test Lead must have the ability to participate as a leader in the area
of System Testing on the FOI project, mentoring team members, helping to
apply methodology practices, and actively contributing to projects.

The Test Lead must be capable of solving complex project problems, and
communicating concepts to audiences with mixed levels of technical &
business abilities.  The candidate must be recognized by his/her peers as
an acknowledged “expert” in the area of testing.  The candidate must have
the ability to make sound decisions and to communicate the effect of those
decisions to a broad audience.

Primary Accountabilities:
This individual will work with the FOI project team to carry out system
test efforts.  The primary duties for this position include but are not
limited to:
Test Planning
•            Developing an initial estimates of the system test effort
•            Identifies test resource requirements and test team structure
•            Identifies risk areas associated with the estimate
•            Working with the QA Manager to tailor Citrix standard test
processes to the project
•            Developing and communicating the Test Approach
•            Developing and communicating the Test Plan
•            Developing and communicating the Test Project Plan

Test Execution
•            Creates System Test Cases, including User Acceptance Testing
(UAT)
•            Executes the System Test Cases in addition to guiding his
testing tem members
•            Day-to-day management of the test team including:
 o            Ensuring the team follows the project’s test processes
 o            Ensuring testing occurs on schedule
 o            Identifying and mitigating risks to the test effort
•            Managing the defect process and conducting defect review
meetings
•            Reporting testing progress and status to the project team
•            Working with the technical team to ensure the test environment
is configured for testing
•            Coordinating with UAT coordinators to ensure the UAT effort is
carried out on schedule
•            Acting as the point of contact for testing related questions

Post-Implementation
•            Participating in the post mortem on test processes and tools
•            Ensuring the final status of test assets corresponds to the
project’s final state

tools and technologies.

•            Mentor test team staff in the application of test process and
technology.

Qualifications:
The Test Lead must possess excellent problem solving and communication
skills.  The individual must be flexible, dependable, capable of
multi-tasking, and quickly learning complex concepts.  The individual must
be expert in the area of testing with an understanding of test tools and
how those apply to the overall testing process.

The Test Lead should have a solid understanding of:
•            Writing complex SQL scripts and RDBMS concepts
•            Web services testing (preferably with SOAP-UI and/or Rational
Performance Tester)
•            Test process/methodology for Agile and Waterfall development
models
•            Test tools (HP-Quality Center (mandatory), SharePoint site
configuration experience and automated testing tools knowledge for
performance and regression testing will be preferred)

The Test Lead should also have a working knowledge of:
•            Requirements management
•            Design and development strategy and tools
•            Risk identification and management
