JOB1 : Senior Functional Manual Tester
Location : Cincinnati, OH
Duration : 6 months.
*Position Description:*
Functional Manual Senior Tester
ELSS project
The tester supports quality assurance programs and processes in alignment
with QA strategy.
The tester is responsible for providing feedback on artifacts developed
during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring
test plans and test cases; and performing test execution for both project
and support related activities.
*Essential Job Functions:*
1. SQL scripting
a. Use SQL for back-end database validation
1. Must have 2-3 years of strong Agile experience
1. Work within various test methodologies such as agile and/or
waterfall
2. Create QA Task List in order to meet objectives and deadlines
3. Participate in Requirement & Design Doc review session; evaluate
requirements & design docs from a quality testability standpoint
4. Create Detailed Test Cases for full requirement coverage/traceability
5. Execute Test Cases to validation correct functionality of application
6. Manage test coverage based on risk analysis
7. Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall
application functionality
8. Coordinate Test Case Reviews with stakeholders are being held as
appropriate.
9. Perform various types of testing including white box, black box,
integration, back-end DB validation, system testing as needed
10. Adhere to requirement review, defect writing & test case writing
guidelines
11. Coordinate testing efforts between 3rd party testing team.
12. Keep Lead Tester informed of current state of quality and test
progress
13. Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and
quality constraints.
14. Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions
15. Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life
cycle standards.
16. Develop and maintain good relationships with project team.
17. Identify obstacles and roadblocks; and offer suggestions to work
around obstacles

*Requirements:*
The ideal candidates should possess: Bachelor’s degree in IS or related
equivalent work experience in an Information Systems position and 3-5 years
of experience in job duties. Experience in discipline of functional
testing. Understanding of regression testing techniques

JOB2 : Data Modeler
Location : Cincinnati, OH
Duration : 6 months.
Position Summary:
The Application Analyst – Data Specialist is responsible for leading in all
facets of the data modeling for application enhancements and existing
production systems of various sizes and complexities. The Data Specialist
performs many of these tasks independently and communicates with the
appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are delivered with the highest
of quality and in accordance to standards. The Data Specialist may complete
data modeling/analytics assignments when necessary to meet the needs of the
business.
The data modeling/data administration group works with application teams to
develop data structures that meet the business requirements. In addition
to this, the group maintains the data naming glossary, enforces naming
standards, ensures metadata definitions exist for all entities and
attributes, generates efficient SQL against master data entities, and
profiles and analyzes data to help design data models. For SOA
applications, the data modeling group defines web services’ inputs/outputs,
creates and maintains WSDLs and designs stored procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
· Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP,
DSS relational and DSS multidimensional database solutions.
· Develop and implement strategies and methodologies in support of
Master Data Management initiatives.
· Lead or actively participate in end-user requirement gathering
meetings
· Facilitate modeling sessions and design walk-throughs with DBA
and development team members
· Work with DBA to convert logical data models to physical data
models for implementation
· Gather and maintain accurate metadata in Erwin models.
· Work with Data Architecture team to ensure proposed database
implementation conforms to Kroger’s corporate data strategy.
· Provide operational support for existing models including impact
analysis, logical and physical data model changes and metadata updates.
· Follow corporate best practices for Data Administration and Data
Modeling to support the corporate methodologies.
· Write efficient SQL and store procedures against database tables
on various platforms.
· Profile and analyze data during the application development. Act
as a data SME for developers, testers and business analysts.
· Create and maintain the XML schema and collaborate with SOA
developers during WSDL creation.
· Tutor and mentor less experienced data models on data modeling
best practices.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
· 3 - 5 years of transactional and dimensional data modeling
experience on UDB, Oracle or SQL Server platforms.
· Solid understanding of Master Data Management principles.
· Demonstrated experience gathering and translating requirements
into conceptual, logical and physical data models using Computer
Associate’s Erwin data modeling tool.
· Solid understanding of canonical model for an Enterprise Message
System.
· Strong communications skills both oral and written, with the
ability to influence peers to senior level managers.
· Must be able to handle multiple projects and assignments
concurrently while maintaining high levels of quality and effectiveness
with a minimum of supervision.
· Experience using metadata repositories a plus.
· Proven customer service skills.
· Highly motivated and service oriented.
· Knowledge of SOA governance and design practices a plus.
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
· Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and complex
workflows.
· Proven communication and presentation skills to effectively
communicate information to customers and to all levels within the
organization.
· Ability to interact well in a team environment.
· Experience with project planning.
· Ability to travel independently (10%)
Desired Previous Job Experience
· Prior experience working in Supply Chain is highly desired
· IS related associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree, or
comparable work experience in an Information Systems position or related
business position.
· Experience with large-scale system design and integration tasks,
comprising design and implementation of major systems.
· Prior experience with project planning with large size or large
level complexity projects.
