Job Description:

*Job Title               : Oracle DBA - LeadLocation               :
Columbus, Ohio*
*Duration              : 8 months with possible extension*
Citizenship Status:  US Citizen preferred; Green Card will be considered

*Position Details *
A Lead Oracle Database Administrator is needed to provide operational and
development support to the Ohio Stars project.  Only candidates who can be
on-site in Columbus during working hours will be considered - work cannot
be done on a remote basis.

*Responsibilities:*
·         Install, configure and maintain Oracle single-instance and RAC
Databases
·         Setup and Maintain Security -User, Roles
·         Perform Backups and Restores
·         Troubleshooting and Resolve database related issues
·         Configure Oracle OEM agent jobs and its components
·         Perform Logical data movement using Data Pump.
·         Perform Physical Data Model design, including sizing and capacity
planning of the database
·         Lead performance tuning efforts, including:
o   Developing and debugging of stored procedures, functions, triggers,
views etc.
o   Review existing code and trouble shoot and suggest improvements if
necessary
o   Perform Code Review with the application developers Identify instances
of aberration from the coding standards
·         Provide recommendations on advanced configuration options and
implement these to resolve issues
·         Configure maintenance schedules, customize it and make sure that
the database has optimal performance.
·         Proactively setup and maintain reports to make sure
configurations are maintained and standards are being followed.
·         Propose new strategies and ideas related to data performance and
maintenance, provide justification and implement them.
·         Work with the software engineering team and other internal users
to address data  access needs.
·         Mentor and guide junior team members and application developers

*Skills Required*: This person must have the following skills:
*Required:*
·         10 or more years experience in the installation and support of
Oracle RAC Databases
·         Provides technical leadership working with system administrators,
technical managers, developers, and architects
·         Expert in the technical aspects of administering, deploying,
upgrading and maintaining Oracle databases
·         Provides best practices for historical data retention, archival,
backup, and recovery processes for Oracle databases
·         Expert at analyzing, troubleshooting and tuning issues with
Oracle RAC installations, upgrades and database performance
·         Experience with RMAN hot and cold backups, ASM and Grid Control
·         Mentors and coaches other database administrators
·         Proactively manages customer relationships and provides excellent
customer service
·         Provides regular, clear, and consistent communication (written
and oral) on the status of projects, issues, and deliverables.

*Optional Skills:*
·         Experience with AIX and scripting languages (JACL, Jython, and
Shell Scripting) is preferred.
·         Exposure to Oracle ETPM, IBM, WebSphere Application Server, IBM
Webshpere ESB, IBM Data Stage, IBM FileNet, is a plus.
