The System Administrator will be working directly with the Project Team, Application Owners (customer), UNIX Operations, Change Management, and Security Teams to plan and execute patch maintenance activities. Strong communication skills are required as the System Administrator will liaise with the Project Team and Business Units, conversing and highlighting dependencies and requirements directly related to patching maintenance. *Technical Skills & Experience:* · 5+ years IT experience in large enterprise environments. · Solaris 10 (and earlier releases). · Solaris LDOMS and Zones. · Red Hat 5 & 6. · VMware Server Virtualization Technologies. · Veritas Volume Manager. · Veritas Cluster Server & Veritas File System. · High Availability Design and Solutions. · ASM Disk Configuration. · EMC storage technologies and their usage. · Knowledge storage area network concepts and fibre channel fundamentals. · Knowledge of Powerpath device configuration. · Remote Server Management Technologies. · Blade Logic and Server Automation Tools. · Shell or Perl script. *Administrative Skills:* · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · High level of focus on customer service. · Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities around current processes. · Self-starter with strong analytical focus, results-oriented and execution driven. · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. *Other Requirements:* · Weekend and non-business hours support. · Flexible to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
