The Network Architect takes technical leadership of the design for all technology sub-domains related to Network technologies. This includes new technologies as well as more traditional technologies. The Sr. Network Architect is responsible for documenting Network technology enterprise level design, developing standards within the Network domain, facilitating the development of the domain strategies and roadmaps. This position provides: oversight to the development of well-formulated models of the components of the Network design, augmenting the models as necessary to fit all of the circumstances; overall Network architecture integrity; ensures leverage opportunities are identified; and maintains architectural models as a framework for understanding the Network domain. The Sr Network Architect will provide support to Engineers in the design of specific solutions contributing deep technology guidance and ensuring that resulting designs are aligned with the end state design for the Network Domain. The Sr Network Architect will engage industry and academic resources for deep sub-domain expertise. Additionally, (s)he will develop communication and education forums covering Network standards and industry directions.(S)he will identify strategies and timing of the introduction of new Network technologies that bring value to Client . The Sr Network Architect will have deep domain expertise in the following areas: o Local Area Network (LAN) o Wide Area Network (WAN) o Internet Connectivity o Routing Protocols o Network Security o Wireless Access (WAPS) o IP Addressing (Schemas, VLANS) o Firewalls o Load Balancers o Remote Access Services o Site to Site VPN’s o MPLS Network – Routing and Circuits o Voice over IP (VoIP) o Quality of Service (QOS) o WAN Optimization o All other IP network based or reliant technologies The Sr. Network Architect will develop and implement Network standards and configuration for Client’s “Journey to the Cloud”. This will provide network connectivity to multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSP’S). This position will architect, design and configure connectivity to CSP’s and the network and network services within various CSP’s (e.g. AWS, AZURE, Google, SoftLayer, etc.) The Sr. Network Architect will provide direction and authority in the following areas: o Domain knowledge expert (Network) o Strategic Planning o Upgrade plans o Define and track standards o Evolve technical solutions o Strategic planning o Refresh plans o Emerging technologies o Innovation o Designs and diagrams o Presenting on Technical symposiums (internal and external) o Publishing articles in the Network Domain (internal and external) Extensive experience in leading teams of consultants in delivering technical solutions to customers; within scope, time, cost and quality parameters; Experience in interaction with multivendor and internal Client teams (including near shore) on a daily basis providing inputs; Extensive problem solving and interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a team member; The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree and/or 8 years of relevant work experience. Advanced technical selling and customer management skills are a requirement. Travel is an integral part of this position as are high levels of recognition and visibility. Travel can be as high as 10% as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business.
