TSM Administrator oversees and monitors the production environment, ensuring that backup/recovery integrity is maintained and service level agreements are met. Manage multiple TSM instances in a shared environment and remote sites. Provides technical guidance to support staff in other areas. System Administration hands on experience with TSM TDP (Tivoli for Data Oracle RMAN) and familiar with SAN networking. Coordinates and documents installation of backup/recovery software and scheduling of jobs. Monitors backup/recovery operations, analyzes problems or malfunctions and takes corrective action and/or coordinates corrective action with systems partners and/or vendors. Has functional technical knowledge of computer operations and network infrastructure. Has functional knowledge of various operating systems (AIX, SOLARIS, and WINTEL), software and TCP/IP. Capable of maintaining and writing Korn shell scripts. Bachelor degree in computer science or a related discipline and at least five years of experience in all aspects of computer operations or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Requires extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of computer operations, decisiveness, strong judgment and management skills and considerable aptitude in human relations. Follows established technical direction and implements Storage Management technology operational processes. TSM system administration knowledge manages tape inventory interaction with IBM 3494 and IBM 3584 libraries and 3590/3592 tape drives. Actively monitors and implements actions in the Storage Management production environment ensuring the fulfillment of the SLAs and OLAs. Provides day-to-day support for Problem Management and is responsible for the fault isolation and resolution of of single files missing backup on a day to day basis. Proactively manages continuous process improvement based on customer feedback, new or emerging technologies and process standards. Supports the testing and implementation of changes or new technology. Provides support for Disaster Recovery Tests. Responsible for documentation of Storage Management activities. Communicates product and service enhancements to customers and system partners. Is a change agent for the proactive approach to delivering consistent service through use of the storage processes. Solid project management skills. The TSM Administrator has on-call off-hour coverage support for problem situations, scheduled maintenance, DCT Tests and Team Leader requests. Follows the Change Management and Problem Management Processes 4 or more years experience in 7x24 multi-site operations, technical support and/or on-call application support environments. Has an in-depth knowledge of enterprise wide operational best practices with strong working knowledge of UNIX (AIX) and WINTEL Storage Technologies. Previous experience in storage management disciplines with demonstrated familiarity and accomplishment with Tivoli Storage Manager and associated storage administration techniques. Proven problem solving and root cause analysis capabilities. Strong Problem Management Skills Demonstrated effectiveness in working in a team environment.
