Assignment Name: Business Express Business Analyst Work Location: Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038 Scheduled Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (including 1 hour for lunch), 40 work hours per week, possible evenings and/or weekends (excluding City holidays). Assignment Start/End Date: Unknown Total Estimated Assignment Hours: MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. • At least 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst • Experience in performing business analysis tasks on large systems integration projects for mission critical processes • Proven experience in defining requirements for solutions in multiple-entity environments (multiple agencies, business partners, etc.) • Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies; Working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards • Experience using standard project tools including Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources • Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence in decisions made • Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project • Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance – • Experience collaborating with Information Architects and UI Designers on projects with public-facing or internal-facing web-based interfaces • Knowledge of basic Usability Best Practices. • Experience collaborating with Information Architects and UI Designers on projects with public-facing or internal-facing web-based interfaces • Knowledge of basic Usability Best Practices. SCOPE OF SERVICES • Business Express will be a solution intended to provide new and existing businesses with the tools required to open and expand businesses in the New York City area. Additionally, the project is intended to provide businesses with a web location where they can log on to manage all of their business transactions with the City. The functionality created through Business Express will ultimately be provided through the web or by dialing 3-1-1. This request is for design/development resources for the implementation of this solution. Responsibilities • The Business Analyst will employ User-Centered Analysis techniques (Interviews, direct observations, JAD sessions, etc) to understand business needs and clearly define the Business and Functional Requirements for NYC Business Express. This resource will work closely with other team leads (Information Architect/ UI Designer, Developer, QA Tester) to translate those Requirements into optimal solution designs. This role is critical to the overall success of the project; greater thought and thoroughness put into the initial requirements phase of the project exponentially reduces the cost and amount of time spent rebuilding and testing (due to revisions) down the road.
