*VMWare and Networking skills essential. First set of duties is to assist
in preparing servers for lift-and-shift move to another data center:
VMWare, Windows, and Solaris. Once that’s done, VMWare migrations and
SPLUNK administration are priorities. Looking for a self-starter who is
able to take and follow directions, ask questions, and build solid
solutions. Looking for someone who can contribute immediately. Position
starts in downtown St Paul, and moves to Eagan in January. 1 year contract,
with potential to convert to FTE.
Duties
Virtual machine builds / provisioning / copying / migrating
Networking: IP-ing servers, updating host files
SPLUNK administration
Laptop – configuration and troubleshooting
Backups
Hardware inventory (Laptops, Monitors, Drives, Docking stations)
User Account Management – account creation and access rights for
Sharepoint, JIRA, Rhode Code, etc.
Service handling in Windows and Solaris (Rhode Code, Team City, SQL Server)
Application-level support
Inventory of IP addresses, Host names, Hardware
*Skills
*8 years experience
VMWare (vSphere 5 migrations utilities, vCenter / client, Familiarity with
vMWare Workstation, VMware migration tools)
Windows Desktop and Network support
Windows 2008R2, Solaris 10, Windows 7
Oracle Enterprise Linux a plus
