Consults with IS and Business management to evaluate complex user requests and clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining ongoing performance of systems and develops updates or modifications according to business needs. Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains computer applications systems to meet Quality of Service objectives of the business. Responsibilities include: 1. Build Application Monitoring 2. Help design Application Infrastructure and configuration of WebSphere and MQ components 3. Refresh system maps and playbooks 4. Assist with Capacity planning for projects 5. Evaluate high availability requirements and help implement the optimal solution 6. Lead troubleshooting of Urgent priority issues and High priority issues that are impacting multiple users. Have the ability to be engaged 24X7 on incident management 7. Manage scheduled outages and recovery from un-planned outages 8. Build support playbooks to ensure swift recovery of application related problems Qualifications for the position: 1. Intimate knowledge of J2EE administration and performance management. An IBM Certified Advanced WebSphere Administrator is preferred 2. Intimate knowledge of WebSphere MQ administration and performance management. An IBM Certified WebSphere MQ Administrator is preferred 3. Knowledge in Application development using Java. A Sun Certified Java Programmer is preferred 4. Expert in WILY monitoring. Ability to develop monitoring solutions using EPAgents and other WILY PowerPacks is required 5. Has Advanced knowledge in Unix and Network performance 6. Has knowledge in monitoring mainframe performance using RMF 7. Expert in performance tuning of Java based applications. Ability to analyze java heap dumps is required 8.
