Title: SQL Server DBA
Location: Dallas, TX

The role is for an SQL Server DBA to support  SQL Server enivornment
consisting of SQL 2000, 2005, 2008 ad 2012 SQL databases.

*
Should have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in Production database
support in MS SQL Server environments.
*
Should have a strong experience in Database Administration in SQL
Server 2005, 2008  and 2012.
*
Should be well experienced in performing database upgrades & new
installations of  all versions of MS SQL Server.
*
Well experienced in SQL Server Reporting Services installation,
troubleshooting and design skills is required.
*
Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity
issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues,
replication issues, log shipping
issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
*
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using
Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and
troubleshooting tools.
*
Good troubleshooting knowledge of SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O,
disk space and other resource contention.
*
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, DBCC commands,
Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
* Should have good experience in implementing operational automation.
*
Strong knowledge of  index management, and statistics maintenance and
configuration.
*
Tracking and applying SQL security patches and hot-fixes in sync with
application teams acceptance.
*
Knowledge of SQL Server tools -  Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM,
PerfMon and DMVs.
*
Good acquaintance with windows server security delegation, SPNs and
storage components is a plus.
* Documentation skills for processes and procedures.
*
Kowledge of 3rd party DBA backup tools such as CommVault or TSM is preferred..
*
Knowledge in a scripting language like Powershell, WMI, VBScript is preferred
Provide DBA support to AM (application maintenance) teams and maintain
and the  database environment of SQL Server databases spanning version
2000 to 2012.   Ty
pical tasks include
- Troubleshooting during SEV1 and SEV2 outages
- Install DBMS software  and apply patches
- create, move (migrate) or remove databases
- Maintain and configure the DB monitoring tools.
- Maintain Disaster Recovery and High Availabilty DB architecture
-  Respond to monitored database events
- Setup DB jobs (Statistics gathering, index rebuilds, data/table archives)
- Execute database backups and recoveries
- Develop and maintain database documentation
- Perform capacity planning (proactively monitor database usage trends
for stroage, Cpu , io, etc.) and report on those trends
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning (recommend DB
configuration changes to mainain or improve performance,
supportability and avoid operating issues.
Follow and participate in Change Management, Incident Management and
Problem Management processes set forth and required by the client.
Approve and review all
Change tickets which involve SQL Server DBA work.   Ensure that the
Incident and Service requests tickets are responded to and resolved
within SLAs.   Perform
Root Cause Analysis on SQL Server Database issues requested by EFH.
he applicant for this position must have good  written and verbal
communication skills.
This includes the ability to communicate technical problems and
solutions to those problems in a way that non-technical clients and
project managers will unders
tand.  Experience in  SQL Server Database Administration (at a minimum
5-7 years)
