Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. * Education/Experience* * Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, MIS or related discipline * 5+ years experience in systems development and skills/platform/environment requested by FedEx management Skills and Competencies * Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and manage one's time * Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models * Knowledge of niche computer software, such as Oracle, CSharp.net, Lawson, etc *Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:* * Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance * Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints * Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met * Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design * Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications * Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration *Additional Job Details: * Need senior Flex developer with at least 4 (6 or more is preferable) years of experience. Will serve as senior developer (this is a coding position) on a new Flex based project. Will need to act as a subject matter expert on Flex, mentoring team members that are new to the technology. He/she must have experience with "skinning" - this should be well documented on the write up. Will be relied upon to perform necessary research into the capabilities within Flex. Preferably has experience with technologies such as Adobe Flex 4 or above, Spark components Blaze DS, and the ESRI Flex API.
