Hello Partners, Java Developer (Entry Level Consultants) MAX RATE IS $40hr-$42hr Location: West Des Moines, IA Duration: 6-12 months contract
Interview Mode: Phone for the first one/ then most likely Skpe or in person Pay Rate: not known yet/ They were looking for full time but now open to H1 candidates PURPOSE: • Builds and maintains effective information software applications that assist the company in minimizing administrative costs and maximizing information flow. ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Assists project managers in conducting fact-findings, which will result in the formulation and definition of the system scope and objectives for developing or modifying information software applications. • Performs quality applications testing to assure the delivery of a product that meets the user’s specifications. • Follows and adheres to company defined IT standards and procedures. • Provides accurate estimates for a single software application. • Participates in design and codes small to large software applications as part of a team. • Effectively communicates the application architecture to team members. • Executes unit/string testing and participates in creation of developer unit/string test plans; demonstrates understanding of QA testing. • Documents own code independently and participates in documentation reviews (where appropriate). • Demonstrates detailed understanding of either life or annuity concepts. • Demonstrates understanding of various departments within IT and IT's function within the company. • Demonstrates ability to resolve complex software issues related to a single application. • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively within own team and management. • Mentors less experienced team members on component design, coding standard problems, and estimating for an application unit. • Effectively handles and manages conflict with peers and management in the IT organization. • Leads oneself by effectively managing time and prioritizing work to meet expectations. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Systems Analysis or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE: • One (1) to four (4) years of Java development experience. • Experience with at least two different 3rd party programming/development tools. • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus. • Must have the ability to interpret detailed project specifications to develop program logic and code.
