Position Description:



The Operations Acceptance Test Lead is responsible for ensuring the
successful completion of all Operational Acceptance testing and risk
assessment activities, end to end validation of all code, infrastructure
component deliveries, and significant process changes to The College Board
and major vendor production environments. This position collaborates in the
development of master test plans, scheduling testing activities, manages
test teams, and coordinates cross-operations risk assessment activities.
Additionally, this role coordinates the set-up and configuration of testing
environments and works with other test teams to identify and resolve
defects. The role provides leadership to technical and business staff
members to improve productivity and quality measures associated with the
testing process. This person will analyze test data to provide status
reports and for making process improvement recommendations.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Management:

•             Coordinates all Operational Acceptance testing activities
(i.e. functional, end-to-end regression, integration and UAT) including
supervising testers during the execution of test scripts, ensuring
necessary participation from the user community, reviewing test results and
managing the defect resolution process. Lead may be required to participate
in testing activities or perform some of the required technical activities.

•             Ensures coordination with external vendors and internal
Business Process Owners (BPO’s) for scheduling tests. Reports test results
and milestones throughout the release test cycles.

•             Manages the set-up and configuration of test environments and
establishes procedures for maintaining those environments.

•             Starting from functional and non-functional requirements, the
Test Lead will demonstrate the capability to build a high-level test plan
and strategy, and then layer in detailed test scenarios that are grouped
together logically to inform the mid-level test plan, and finally monitor
and control the test execution phase through status reporting. The test
lead will also disposition defects and report on the relative riskiness of
the software for the target deployment date.



Quality Assurance/Process Improvement:

•             Develop testing standards and best practices for establishing
a continuous improvement program.

•             Provide leadership and guidance in the development of a
compilation of best practices for achieving better than satisfactory
results throughout the testing cycle.

•             Develop test plans based on established standards and best
practices.

•             Provide reporting of quality metrics throughout the test
phase of all releases.



Quality Control:

•             Serve as representative to the IT development organization
for development efforts related to vendor data flows and operational data
quality.

•             Work with business process owners, vendors, and IT staff to
ensure that data quality requirements are well understood and documented
including field level business semantics for data in operational databases,
requirements and business rules for data validation, requirements for data
retention



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•             BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Web
Systems or other related degree

Master’s degree preferred

•             7+ years direct experience in design, development, test and
implementation of software

•             5-7 years managing test resources of various skill-sets and
experience throughout the entire software development life-cycle

•             Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles and
practices (e.g., ITIL, TQM, ISO, SIX SIGMA and CMM/I)

•             Knowledge of broadly accepted delivery life cycle
methodologies as it pertains to managing project deliverables throughout
the software development lifecycle especially as it pertains to testing.

•             *Experience leading automation initiatives for development of
software applications*

*•             Experience in strategic planning*

*•             Experience in project planning, project management, risk
management, and critical path scheduling*

*Programming and scripting experience*

*•             Experience with formal automation tools and methodologies
and systems/software*

•             Ability to effectively handle multiple situations
simultaneously

•             Ability to work independently and as part of a team
