Location: Saint Paul, MN Duration: 6 months Assignment is about assessment of an applications of one of the line of business of insurance company. There is existing set of applications that are evolved and enhanced over period of time. There is no up to date documentation available. Applications are mainly developed using VB.NET. Typical client server (windows form) thick client and SQL server 2008 as back end. Following are the responsibilities 1. Understand Application domain and technology landscape 2. Identify high level functional and technical capabilities 3. Work with SME's to get clarification / inputs 4. Analyze the code to come up with AS IS architecture / design 5. Create detail assessment document for each technical capability 6. Identify current business and technical challenges 7. high level code review to identify gaps in coding / development practices 8. understand technical currency issues 9. Analyze database / stored procedure (Information architecture) 10. Review assessment document with stake holders 11. come up with functional and technical score for each capability 12. Good communication skills as person will be responsible for interacting with client and vendor team. 13. Person should flexible to work with offshore counter part team based out of India 14. Person need to clarify and provide inputs to offshore team 15.
