Our client located in Marina del Rey, CA has a job opportunity for a motivated* Software Test Engineer* to join their Systems Software Engineering team. In this role you will work with all phases of software engineering, such as requirement analysis, design, development, code/unit test and system integration, and software test. Analyze customer’s positive train control systems requirements. • Develop system test requirements, plans, test use cases, and test procedures. • Write and debug automated test scripts in Linux environment using custom scripting language. (TCL) • Write and update manual test procedures. • Develop system test concepts for laboratory and field tests. • Assist in client's transition to new systems/technologies. • Complete software integration builds using Star Team. *Required Experience:* 3 or more years of software testing and QA engineering experience. • Experience with any of these tools: bash (Bourne shell), Tcl, XML, Wireshark, Visio. • Software programming in C (primary)/C++/Java on UNIX/Linux platform. • Experience working with customers on requirements, testing, and system documentation. • Experience analyzing system requirements in a test environment. • Experience preparing system documentation, test plans, or test procedures. • Experience writing and debugging automated test scripts. • Experience with software integration builds. • Knowledge of SDLC at an Enterprise level. • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers. Education or Certification Requirements: BS degree preferred.
