Ø Plans and implements configuration of software and/or hardware (e.g. SAN, Client, Host) on one or more platforms. Ø Responsible for optimal system performance and system capacity planning Manages and leads escalated support and problem resolution activities for system hardware, software, and/or operating systems. Ø Responsible for timing and implementation of next versions for existing operating systems, system software, hardware, and/or tools within current architecture Ø May design, develop, acquire, and/or oversee the development of specialized automation tools, scripts, and processes for the administration and performance monitoring of system hardware and/or software. Ø May create local and/or incorporate system engineering standards and best practices. Ø May lead and direct the development of support guidelines and procedures with participation from Operations Analysts and Architects. Ø May interact with suppliers and others within systems engineering communities and may influence direction of technologies.
