*WebSphere Administrator (Evening Shift) Winston-Salem, NC 6+ months *

*Evening Shift*
5:30pm - 2:30am Monday through Friday with a 1 hour dinner break

*USC/ GC Only*


*Job Purpose:*
Ensure the Web infrastructure is available and operating in a healthy,
consistent, and stable state across all development and production
environments.

*Job Functions/Responsibilities:*
Perform all administration duties associated with the web infrastructure,
including management of the following:
Websphere Application Server (WAS)
Websphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB)
IBM HTTP Server
ILOG
CA Application Performance Managemernt (formerly Wily Introscope)

Monitor and maintain the web infrastructure. Resolve various technical
issues. Analyze system performance and address bottlenecks and other
potential problems.
Perform regular maintenance on the Websphere environments, including
software installation, upgrades, and patching.
Manage all Security, Logging, Audit, and Usage requirements within the web
infrastructure.
Perform troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis on issues that
relate to the web infrastructure.
Provide Mon-Fri evening and overnight support of the web infrastructure.
Support Development and Business activities as they relate to the web
infrastructure, including performing application code deployments,
assisting with testing and validation, and troubleshooting.

*Job Minimum Knowledge and Skills:*
Experience with installing, configuring, and administering Websphere
Application Server versions 7.0/8.0/8.5 on Windows and AIX platforms
Experience with installing, configuring, and administering Websphere
Enterprise Service Bus version 7.0 on AIX platform
Experience with installing, configuring, and administering IBM HTTP Server
with a strong understanding of its configuration settings
Strong understanding of the Websphere Application Server Plugin and its
settings
Recent and solid experience with the administration and debugging of
applications running on Websphere.
Proficient in overall performance tuning & capacity planning
Strong understanding of Java EE architecture and concepts, and the ability
to identify issues relating to java applications running under Websphere.
Experience with writing wsadmin, jython, shell scripts, and other means of
automation
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Websphere.
Including (but not limited to):
Performance/Availability issues
System events
Version incompatibilities
Hardware, software, connectivity issues
Ability to undertake end to end, cross platform, middleware infrastructure
problem identification and analysis
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to
communicate with all levels within the organization
Experience with CA APM and Client Sitescope monitoring tools: setting up
and managing monitors, alerts, and schedules.
Ability to work independently without requiring detailed direction
