Positon: Business Analyst (they do not want anyone who is too Systems Analyst focused) Location: El Segundo (will consider relocation candidates/ hire off of Skype) Terms: 6-18 month contract • Position will be working on new short term projects related to DTV Sales and Marketing department (promotional/ short term/ region specific offers) • Love people who come from sales/marketing/ecommerce background • conducting/ leading JAD session, creating user stories, use cases, UML diagrams, sales & marketing projects (anything to do with sales/call center/ CRM/ order management related systems) • Need to have knowledge of writing requirements from a business perspective, working with various stakeholders across departments, and working with vague requirements Job Description: This person will be responsible for conducting initial assessments/analysis for offers requested by various business units within DIRECTV, primarily Sales Marketing department, understanding the business objectives and collaborating with various business and IT stakeholders on devising the most effective solutions. This person will also be responsible for generating Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for new requests. This is a visible role, key to the success of the IT organization in delivering value. The candidate will work closely with other IT groups in the development of requirements and estimates to aid in the staging process. Responsibilities: • Conducting initial assessments, eliciting requirements, conducting analysis, maintaining requirement repositories, and ensuring the solution meets the requirements as the subject matter expert • Conducting requirements reviews • Ensuring that analysis artifacts follow established standards and processes • Ensuring best practices and procedures to improve quality of deliverables and efficiency • Identifying issues and risks, understand and deal with it, in a manner that mitigates risk to quality, timeline, and scope • Work products include documentation, requirement models, and requirement repositories • Develop project estimates, for Offer projects, based on early lifecycle stage information available, such as preliminary, high level business and system requirements. Estimate outputs include effort and cost to complete a project.
